Account & Data Deletion

Important: Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. Please export any data you wish to keep before requesting deletion.

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your Do What account and associated data using either of the methods below.

Option 1: Delete from the App

  1. Open the Do What app on your Android device
  2. Tap the Settings gear icon
  3. Scroll down and tap Account
  4. Tap Delete Account
  5. Confirm your identity by entering your password
  6. Tap Permanently Delete to confirm

Your account and personal data will be deleted immediately. Some data may take up to 30 days to be fully purged from our backup systems.

Option 2: Request Deletion by Email

If you are unable to access the app, you can request account deletion by emailing support@dowhat.family with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".

  1. Send an email to support@dowhat.family
  2. Use the email address associated with your Do What account
  3. Include the subject line: Account Deletion Request
  4. We will verify your identity and process your request within 7 business days
  5. You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete

What Data Is Deleted

When your account is deleted, the following personal data is permanently removed:

Data Type Status Details
Account credentials Deleted Email, password, and authentication tokens
Profile information Deleted Display name and profile photo
Personal notes Deleted All private notes and their contents
Security settings Deleted Two-factor authentication config, trusted devices, and backup codes
Location data Deleted Saved locations, geofence reminders, and location preferences
Device data Deleted Push notification tokens, device trust records, and local encrypted database
Trash items Deleted All items in your personal trash
Family membership Deleted You are removed from your family group

What Data Is Retained

Certain data that was shared with your family group may be retained to avoid disrupting other family members:

Family to-do items Retained Shared with family members who still use them
Family shopping lists Retained Shared with family members who still use them
Family notes Retained Shared with family members who still use them
Chat messages Retained Part of ongoing family conversations

Want family content deleted too?

If you want all content you created (including shared family items) to be deleted, please mention this in your email to support@dowhat.family and we will process a full content deletion on your behalf.
